November 2006 - MENC. The National Association for Music Education is working with EurekaFacts to measure the effect of national eduction standars established in 1994. Resulting from a push by the National Council of Education Standards and Testing (NCEST) in 1992, voluntary music education standars were established to provide school districts and educators with appropiate goals according to grade level. Efforts are now being made to determine which states actally adhere to the national standars and examine the effects these standars have had on music education throughout the nation.
November 2006 - Presidential Classroom, the preeminent civic education nonprofit organization which operates educational travel programs for high school studens interested in government and policy issues, used EurekaFacts' insight to increase the number of program participants. Geo-demographic analysis qualitative research and predictive modeling helped develop a new targeted campaign to recruit students and generate program awareness among educators in the US and forty countries worldwide. A highly personalized direct-mailing campaign targeting individual student interests was developed to reach a large audience, thereby increasing enrollment. Along with the direct mailing, online informational chat sessions and email reminders were also arranged.
October 2006 - EurekaFacts President Jorge Restrepo chaired the fifth annual Maryland Hispanic Business Conference. The theme of the 2006 Conference was "The Power of Hispanic Business," in recognition of the growing success and influence of Hispanic businesses in Maryland. The Conference supported the Maryland Hispanic business community and those who want to do business with us by helping to create a forum to maximize and promote the success of Hispanic business. Esteemed panelists provided useful tips and past experience on "how to Take Your Business to the Next Level," along with other topics.
September 2006 -NeighborWorks America, a national nonprofit organization created by Congress to provide financial support, technical assistance, and training for community-based revitalization efforts, used EurekaFacts research to improve training institutes and establish an award procedure. A detailed online-survey was developed to access the effectiveness of current training opportunities and suggestions for improvement. In-depth interviews were done with a wide sample of executives to obtain feedback award procedures, in an effort to help NeighborWorks America develop an effective award of their own.
August 2006 - EurekaFacts President Jorge Restrepo presented at the ASAE and The Center for Association Leaderchip 2006 Annual Meeting & Exposition, which was held August 19 - 22 in Boston, MA. Approximately 6,000 leading association executives attended the conference, marking the second highest attendance rate in the history of the meeting. EurekaFacts was represented at the conference, sharing insight into effective market research and analysis.
July 2006 - EurekaFacts President Jorge Restrepo and MGI Vice President Frank Peterson speak at the 2006 Direct Marketing Association/ Association of Fundraising professionals AFP/DMAW annual conference. The topic covered is Targeting Success - The story behind the first billion dollars. Participants learned about the combination of data-driven and creative-intensive strategy that took a local bank to the first Billion dollars in deposits. The speakers presented success stories on the use of customer profile development and segmentation to build a successful acquisition, up-sell cross-sell plan using direct mail, and supplemented with other marketing elements. Building a strong customer profile and identifying predictors of response were instrumental in growing a bank's customer base by eight percent and growth in deposits by more than fifteen percent over a five month period, setting the stage for customer acquisition and cross-selling that has fueled continued growth for two years.

May 2006 - EurekaFacts Opens New Virtual Focus Groups Facility
EurekaFacts develops new capabilities for qualitative online research, opening its brand-new Virtual focus group facility. The chat-based tool is designed to capture maximum input from teenagers and other web-savvy audiences who feel comfortable using this tool. Listening to the concerns on many nonprofit clients who require qualitative input in the development of recruitment and marketing plans targeting youth, a specialized application was developed. The online virtual focus group room allows participants the opportunity to comment on various topics via tools familiar to them, via the web using chat environment. A professional moderator observes all communication and captures textual and contextual input verbatim- straight from the source!
April 2006 - Democracy. Its up to you! - EurekaFacts completes development of web site, and integrated online/direct mail campaign for the International Youth Democracy Summit, a collaborative effort of Presidential Classroom, the University of Virginia and the Jamestown Foundation. This program allows top high school students to participate as delegates in the week-long event. Scholars, government representatives, activists, and young people from the United States and around the world will come together to commemorate America’s 400th Anniversary…. a journey that gave rise to a new nation and changed the world. April 2006 - The Council on Standards for International Educational Travel CSIET uses EurekaFacts insight to better understand the demographic profile of the families hosting international exchange students. EurekaFacts provided geo demographic analysis of host families welcoming international exchange students into their homes.

January 2006 - Laura Burns, New Research Manager at EurekaFacts
Laura Burns M.S. has joined Rockville-based EurekaFacts LLC as manager of survey research. Prior to joining Eureka Facts, LLC, Ms. Burns received her MS degree in survey methodology from the University of Maryland and worked in the survey research division of Abt Associates Inc. In her new position Ms. Burns will manage research projects for national nonprofit organizations and government agencies.
